The legacy of the shadow
Stay on the wall the footprint of the dark,
even if the body moved elsewhere,
a fixed eclipse, a dark demanius
that does not care where the sun rains.
It is the solid memory of the vacuum,
a shape that cannot tremble,
while the day, in his motion unknown,
Try in vain to be able to erase it.
We are waste of light on the lime,
residues of a passage that resists,
between the time his sickle changes
and the grey silence of what exists.
Explanation
The work is configured as a metaphysical meditation on the persistence of absence, where the vacuum takes on a paradoxically solid consistency. The investigation begins by focusing on a dark footprint that survives the removal of the body, establishing itself on a vertical surface as an inamovable testimony. This stain of darkness is presented as an area subtracted to the jurisdiction of light, a condition of perennial obscurement that does not dissolve and that demands its own vital space, showing itself completely indifferent to the natural cycle of the day.
The heart of opera deepens the nature of this silhouette, describing it as a pietrified memory of voidness. Unlike living matter, subject to friezes and changes, this projection remains immovable and impassive. Thus there is a conflict between the dynamism of solar time, which unnecessarily attempts to restore the natural order by erasing the traces of the past, and the obstinacy of a profile that refuses to fade, raising itself as a symbol of a permanence that challenges oblivion through its own inertia.
In the final part, reflection moves on the human condition, interpreted as a transitional glow on the world’s naked matter. Beings are seen as luminous fragments that leave tenacious residues of their passage, capable of resisting despite precariousness. The final contrast opposes the transforming force of the chronology, ready to cut off every link, to the silent and plumbea reality of what remains. The final inheritance is therefore not dynamic action, but the grey silence of a form that, while devoid of life, continues to occupy the space of the real.
